Abstract Along with aerodynamic improvements, advanced design techniques and manufacturing engineering, composite materials are playing significant role in design and development of commercial aircraft. Composites have been proved that it can effectively reduce weight  by  20 %.The development of composite material leads to the discovery of natural fibers and at present, the  researchers are focusing in analysis of natural fibers like Banana, jute, hemp, coconut coir, corn fiber and flux due to its bio-degradable nature and  less weight. In this experimental analysis, synthetic fiber (glass fiber) is combined with natural fiber (coconut coir) along with epoxy resin LY556 and hardener HY951.Five different weight fractions are laminated by compression moulding and these combinations are tested for its tensile, flexural and impact strength. The determined strength is compared with Glass fiber reinforced composite. The result indicates that glass-coir-epoxy at the proportion of 5:15:80 offers higher impact and flexural strength than simple glass reinforced epoxy composite.
