Abstract—Fins are used in convective heat transfer in a wide range of applications, and offer a great temperature distribution from the system to the surroundings. Therefore it is important to have investigations on the temperature distribution within geometry of the fin in order to choose the configuration that offers maximum heat transfer and effectiveness. In this work the modified structure of Spark Ignition (SI) engine fins are modeled and its temperature distribution is analyzed using ANSYS FLUENT software with respect to the various air velocities of the vehicle and its effectiveness is calculated on the basis of total heat transfer area and compared with the existing design.
