Abstract The photovoltaic power generation is a distribution resources whose output changes rapidly due to the environmental conditions and due to the nature of the non linear load also power quality issues occurred in it. Power quality issues are harmonics, voltage sag, voltage swell, voltage fluctuations and waveform distortions. To overcome the power quality issues STATCOM Based Voltage Source Inverter is used to reduce the harmonics content of the load current at the point of common coupling. By injecting the current into the grid can achieve pure sinusoidal waveform with the fundamental frequency of 50HZ Therefore the system life time has been increased and these system is implemented in hardware.
