Abstract – Bicycle is one of the most economical and popular machine. Mountain bicycle racing is done by riding bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain. A bicycle frame is conspicuous part in whole bicycle system which is subjected to static and dynamic loads. In this project the design and structural analysis have been done on a mountain bicycle of existing dimensions. In this research the bicycle frame is simulated with Finite Element Analysis method and equivalent stress and total deflections are found. Optimization is done based on change in geometry. This paper proposed improvement in design which affect to minimization in the weight of bicycle frame.
