Abstract – Structural engineering is an ever-evolving field full of innovative ideas and the research in this field had led to the birth of different types of structural systems. For instance, in framed structures which are common now, diagrid structures are a new type of structure which has started to spread throughout the world. This paper aims to introduce a new structural system called “hexagrid structural system”. Hexagrid eliminates outer periphery columns and intent to take lateral loads effectively. Study of configuration of hexagrid is unavoidable for further studies of hexagrid structural system. In this, angle performance study plays a major role because variation in angles of hexagrids can make a difference to the entire structural dimensions without any change in quantity of material utilized. Angle performance study is an investigation sequence which travels through two dimensional as well as three dimensional analysis. However, the prime portion of this study is concentrated on three dimensional analysis. 3D analysis implemented includes the effective application of lateral load and development of the relation linking the angle between diagonal members and the maximum lateral deflection of the structure. Investigation was continued by giving more importance to structural properties and comparing all the relationships. All analysis is as per Indian standards using ETABS software and material chosen is reinforced cement concrete.
