Abstract – Normal drop axle is bent towards their ends, it means its centre is dropped. This type of axle is used in as front axle of the heavy commercial vehicle. Advantage of this type of axle is that due to dropping, the centre of gravity is also get lowered due to which vehicle stability get increases. In the axle lift mechanism, the lifting height is essential thing. This type of axle can’t be used for lift mechanism to improve the lifting height because its tooling and production cost is more compare to straight axle and strength is also very less. Lifting height is challenging task for pusher lift axle because the propeller shaft is just passes above the axle. To maintain the draft angle of the propeller shaft, lifting height is restricted with propeller shaft’s height. The only alternate option to improve lifting height is that to convert the straight axle into centralised drop axle. Advantage of this type of drop axle is that, except lowered the COG, modification of axle as per load application can be possible and its strength can also be improved. Due to centralised dropping section of the axle, the axle can be lift beyond the propeller shaft’s height without affecting its draft angle.
