Abstract –In Hill stations, generally, when the temperature is very low, solar water heaters may overheat the water owing to the increase in pressure in high altitude, hilly areas. Water may be converted into steam, which may prove unsuitable for domestic purposes and highly hazardous, if not taken into account. Though solar water heaters are known for their cost saving mechanism and greater life time that attracts most of the consumers, it also has its disadvantages like high maintenance cost and lower possibilities of control. It would be hard in case of temperature management without the use of a controller in solar water heaters. Automation is the process by which control systems are used for operation of various machines and in applications such as Boilers, railway department, air crafts etc. IoT, the internet working of smart devices which are embedded for the purpose of collecting and exchanging data, can be combined with this process to enable temperature management in solar water heaters, and thus helping users to be aware of the water condition in their respective Solar water heaters.
