Abstract – Continuous health monitoring in health-care environments is necessary for growing aging population. This paper discusses the deployment of a suitable sensor network with sensor nodes which can measure parameters related with air quality. Carbon-Di- oxide, Methane, Ammonia is most common gases in environment which can be harmful for patients in hospital. Hence the information about content of such elements in air can be collected by the sensors and be used for making vital decisions. Wireless medium would be used for communication. Zigbee alliance can be used for data transmission between sensor node and gateway or the base station. This paper also discusses the challenges, evaluation metrics and applications of wireless sensor network in healthcare domain. Wireless indoor air quality measuring is the prime objective of this paper.
